Hi Kenny,
Many people will tell you protein is protein and you should just focus on getting as much protein into your body as it requires. Sources of Protein have what's called a Biological Value (BV)associated to it, therefore the higher the BV the more effeciently your body will utilize the protein.
The most easily digestable natural source of protien is whole eggs (oh well there is mothers milk but i don't think you really want to be drinking that - but each to their own) where the percentage net utilization by our bodies is 94%. Because eggs contain the best protein digestion rate of any natural source, eggs are given a Biological value of '100' and all other protein containing food sources are rated according to how digestible they are compared to egg protein.
There are protein powders out on the market which digest even easier than egg protein and can be utilized by our bodies even more than the 94% than natural egg protein can be. These protein powders tend to have a higher BV rating than 100.
You will tend to find that protein powders that are super cheap like the ones on the link you have attached tend to use cheap methods of processing and filitering the protein to create the end product. In my experience these cheap proteins have a low BV and tend to play havoc on your stomach and you seem to spend far too much spare time on the toilet if you catch my drift.
Plus i feel it takes you longer to make the muscular gians you are after.
But hey if your guts can handle it and you are not fussed about taste and you are on a budget then by all means use this stuff but i would say there a lot better protein powders out there. When i first started training i was a student and was on a budget therefore i used these cheap protein powders and mixed all sorts of fruit, milk, yoghurt and eggs into them to help get as much protein in as possible and all so to help settle in my stomach but if i could have gone back and used a higher grade quality protein powder and spent a little bit more money on them then i would have done.
Hope this helps?

Quadzilla the most Natural Abundent source of Protein in the world is Actually Human Meat .
It has the highest BV .
Anyone fancy eating(No dirty Talk ) someone today, anyone know a good recipe .
Only kidding, crackin article, in my Opinoin BUT, I would say that I believe all these Weight Gainers and Protein Powders are a waste of Money, just stick to the Basics, Eggs, Milk, Meat etc,. and you will gain just as much.
Cheers.

PS i agree with Steve3 stick to as much natural whole food meals as possible for your protein and calorie intake. My diet consists of 6-8 meals a day and only 1-2 of them are from shakes, the rest of the protein comes from Eggs, Chicken, Turkey, Steak/Beef and Fish. |
