Right gentlemen,
This is as much info as I can give you so far on this but it will be held at Unit20 and the events will be as follows (subject to change)
1 - 120 log for reps - hopefully head to head on the new wooden logs Brian sells
2 - arm over arm - both heavy chains from the Unit
3 - deadlift frame - big, medium and little tyres - side handles for reps
4 - 150 farmers holds - high pick up - head to head
5 - 140 or 170 stone over yoke - rep at 170 beats any at 140
Top 4 go through to Open final end of August in Northwich. Date tbc but will be sometime in July as we'll be trying to avoid any other comps around this time. _________________ For quality supplements go to www.unitsupplements.co.uk |

Hmmm, not decided on the suits yet. I'd imagine we'll allow straps tho. _________________ For quality supplements go to www.unitsupplements.co.uk |

comps are always set up to favour guys who can dead more than they can hold on to
how about this one favours the guys who can grip more than they can dead, the weak guys, like me! |

the smack talk is rubbish on here!
Doesn't anyone fancy this comp?
I think the events look great, and not a standard bar in sight! The way a strongman comp should be!
Now if we could just get rid of suits, I'd be happy! |

| I would tend to agree with you about the suits. I have never tried a deadlift suit, but couldn't justify the extra expense of buying one anyway. Allowing suits etc helps out the folk with a bit more cash and doesn't really offer anything to the sport. Its not like powerlifting where the federations often survive on money coming from the suit manufacturers etc. |

I dont disagree that the strongest man will prob win over the course of thecomp anyway regardless of kit, I just dont think suits add anything to a comp, as someone with a better suit, or better fitting one will gain an advantage over someone who can lift the same raw but does not have the best kit.
It wouldn't put me off a comp tho, and I gues if I had done any suited lifting I might change my opinion |
